![]() Notice Regarding Changes to Management of Labour Market Partnerships (LMP).In July, management of some specific Labour Market Partnership (LMP) agreements transferred from the Ministry of Housing and Social Development (HSD) to the Ministry of Advanced Education and Labour Market Development (ALMD). LMPs provide financial assistance to organizations to encourage, support and facilitate labour force adjustments and human resource planning activities which are in the public interest. To learn more about LMPs, please click here. Specifically, LMPs that are provincial in nature, for example those with a sectoral interest, transferred to ALMD, while LMPs that are negotiated locally, such as those that deal more specifically with workforce adjustment, remain with HSD and continue to be managed through local Employment and Labour Market Services (ELMS) offices. Transferring these particular LMPs to ALMD supports the transformation of the LMP program as a key tool in collecting valuable labour market information and ultimately improving labour markets across the province. The transfer also provides opportunity to further the collaborative relationship between HSD and ALMD. The scope and duration of current LMPs will remain unchanged. HSD staff will contact transferring LMP agreement holders with further information. Questions regarding these changes can be directed to HSD’s online question form at: this link. |
