Long Tenured Worker

This section provides information on the federal government's Career Transition Assistance initiatives for Long Tenured Workers: The Severance Investment in Training Initiative (SITI) and the Extended Employment Insurance & Training Incentive (EEITI). These initatives are intended to help eligible laid-off workers with many years of experience, who have made only limited use of Employment Insurance (EI), to renew or upgrade their skills when necessary to improve likelihood of finding long term employment and improve re-integration into the labour market. Potentially eligible individuals will be identified by, and receive a letter from Service Canada explaining the initiative and advising them to contact an Employment Assistance Service provider to have their employment needs assessed.
